El Mangroove Hotel, casual-luxury experience in Papagayo

After living a WOW experience this weekend, El Mangroove Hotel exceeded my expectations and became one of my favorite Sustainable- Luxury Hotels in Papagayo, Guanacaste! Besides it’s luxurious and super classy settings, I loved how this property conserved traditional architecture from Guanacaste and integrate an efficient program of corporate social responsibility that includes several practices to protect the environment and mark an important impact in it’s community: Playa Panama. 

FROM RELAXATION TO ENERGIZING MOMENTS:

A little bit of Vitamin SEA recharged my energy and my Soul! During the day, we went sailing around Papagayo Gulf and it’s secluded beaches, where you can enjoy snorkeling, diving, paddle boarding, fishing trips, whales watching and many more luxury water activities. The tour is super recommended, the hidden beaches of the Gulf have amazing colors and the wildlife you can admire under the ocean are breathtaking! 

 The pool of the Hotel and it’s beautiful surroundings are super chic, you will love to relax near the pool, using one of your private cabanas and enjoy a glass of White Wine or your favorite cocktail. 

WELLNESS EXPERIENCE AT RENAISSANCE SPA: 

I was already super relax after my Beach tour and then, something better was almost start happening: my appointment at the  Rennaisance Spa! I totally adored my Wellness Experience, I received a deep tissue massage and the sensation was pure bliss! I strongly recommend my amazing therapist Lorien and also when you visit; ask to receive your therapy outdoors; in their exotic Bungallows. The setting is magical. Take your time. 

FUSION GASTRONOMY FLAVORS: 

The property has two beautiful restaurants; Makoko where you will enjoy breakfast and dinner and Matiss located closer to the beach and ideal to enjoy your lunch and fresh snacks. During my visit, it was a pleasure to meet and shared with Cristian Baez the Executive Chef from Mangroove. 

Cristian loves to fusion the International Cuisine and his Argentinian roots with the Costa Rican local Gastronomy, supporting local suppliers and taking advantage of the fresh ingredients of the Costa Rican Pacific coast. From Farm to Table or From Ocean to table menus are part of the fantastic offer, I love his sustainable gastronomy concept! 

A culinary master piece from Chef Cristian Baez that I loved is the exquisite tropical octopus: try it with mango and lemon butter sauces and don’t miss the súper fresh watermelon + cucumber salad. You need to try as well the exquisite Guacamole with goat cheese and the tuna poke! Yummy!  

SUSTAINABILITY: 

With 85 rooms, this member of the Autograph Hotell Collection is 100% Costa Rican investment and currently provides 180 direct and 500 indirect jobs.  Mangroove has an efficient recycling program and one time per year they offer a special programs for children of the community to learn english lessons during the summer. 

The Hotel has been also certified by the CST or Sustainable Tourism Certification and from the Program Bandera Azul or Blue Flag that looks for responsible practices in the Beach, saving energy initiatives, treatment of the used waters, impact in the community and empowerment of the staff, among others.
